In many ways, we are lost. Not just we as individuals, but also, we as a people, nation, or world. We’ve turned our backs on God’s goodness and have decided to crawl back into our dark caverns.
But there is hope in the prayer of a psalmist. Psalm 80:19 offers: “Restore us, O LORD God of hosts! Let Your face shine, that we may be saved!” This prayer is prayed to the mighty God of an amazing host of powerful warriors. He is strong. He is capable.
He can restore me as a person. He can restore our nation and world. And once restored, the glory of His shining face can grant us hope of salvation and renewal. He alone can lighten our dark souls with the light of His gloriously shining countenance
