Wow! What would I give to have positive things planted into my life!? Things that my innermost being could benefit from simply by receiving them. Does a verse promise this very thing?
Psalm 97:11 offers, “Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart.” Light and gladness are two beautiful gifts, and these gifts are actually a benefit to those who practice an upright life.
But, you may ask, “How do I know if I’m righteous enough to receive such gifts?” The answer lies in the trust we place in the promises of God. I am righteous, not because I’m perfect, but because Christ Himself has declared me to be righteous. And that upright lifestyle? That’s a work of God also. The goodness of the Holy Spirit bearing His fruit in me facilitates my own upright lifestyle.
And the result? Light and gladness get planted in my life. One day, I will reap an amazing harvest from these beautiful seeds of light and gladness that have been invested in me.
