Some people light up! When you walk into their presence, their whole face shines their welcome. This is a joy-giving habit that I could learn to practice.
But Someone more grand, more divine, also lets His face light up. One verse says, “The LORD make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you.” (Number 6:25) And this beautiful feature of God’s goodness can be prayed as a benediction.
Just like I can light up when I see someone I love, I can pray that God will light up and shine His magnificent face on those I love. I can pray, “God, light up and shine Your gracious face on my precious family and friends.”
