Shine as Lights

I may appear to be average or insignificant. But, in reality, I am not. I am unique, valuable, and valued through the work of Christ.

Paul reminds us of this truth, “That you may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom you shine as lights in the world.” (Philippians 2:14) As a child of God, I’ve been declared blameless, I’ve grown harmless, and I stand out in stark contrast to the darkness that lies all around me. I am shining as a light in the world.

This world, its philosophies and practices, is crooked and perverse. This world needs the hope of light. And this light? It shines forth from those believers who act as a conduit for the light of Christ.

Believers, may we shine as lights in this dark, crooked, and perverse world.
