The world is dark. Humanity has dwelled in darkness for most of its 6000-year long existence. But for thirty-three years, the Light of the world lived amongst His creation. This season of light was actually a part of prophecy.
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light…upon them has the light shined.” (Isaiah 9:2) Although this prophecy was referring to a specific, remote region of Israel during the Roman Empire, the principle applies to all humanity. Just like that one corner of that one country was lit by the physical presence of Christ, the dark corner of humanity’s heart was also lit by Jesus.
Jesus is that Great Light of the prophecy. And for me, His Light has shined in the dark neighborhood of my poor heart and brought me the light of hope. So, I will embrace this prophecy of Light!
