I can shine far and wide. I can illuminate the darkness around me. I can be the needed warmth and comfort and cheer. But what about at home? Does my light shine well near me?
Jesus, speaking about our own lighted candles, says, “-it gives light to all that are in the house.” (Matthew 5:15b) His light in us has a task at home as well as abroad. For really, what value would be in my lighting a path for my neighbor if I don’t light a path for my children?
So, do I give light to all that are in my house? Does that light that shines farthest shine brightest at home?
