While He walked among us, the world was a brighter place. But Jesus’ time on earth was limited, marked at the end by His death, resurrection, and ascension. He promised that He would lighten the world while He was here. But what about after He went away.
Jesus said, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” (John 9:5) But is Jesus really gone? Is His light really extinguished or dim? Is not He here in the lives of His believers? Yes! Jesus is the light. He dwells in us. His light dispels our darkness and shines forth from our lives.
Jesus is in the world. He’s in the world in His believers. As a result, His life shines through us!
