Garden Club Reflections- Sight to the Blind

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me…to preach…recovering of sight to the blind” (Luke 4:18) This prophesied ministry goal of Jesus is linked to the word “preach” in this New Testament account. Just like Jesus doesn’t only open the door of the captive but strengthens the captive to free himself, Jesus here encourages the blind to open his eyes and see.

               Though during His earthly ministry, Jesus touched the eyes of the sightless and physically healed them, then and now, He heals those spiritually blinded by the god of this world. By sharing Truth (AKA- Himself), Jesus can lighten the darkened vision with His eternal hope and light. And we can take part in this ministry. Jesus is Light. Jesus is Sight. He is our Vision. Let’s freely share Him with the blind around us.
