51 He hath showed strength with His arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 He has put down the mighty from their seats, and exalted them of low degree.
53 He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich He has sent empty away.
Luke 1:51-53 offers a prophecy for the future through the lips of the earthly mother of Jesus, Mary. Humbled, grateful, Mary expresses all the hope for the coming generations through the birth of Jesus, and ultimately His kingdom, where all wrongs shall be made right.
God has plans, through His Son, to displace the proud, to disdain their evil plans, and to exalt the humble and lowly. The poor shall feast lavishly, and the rich shall feel, for the first time, true want of basic necessities. The first will be made last. The last shall be exalted to first place and have priority in Jesus’ earthly kingdom. Good times ahead!
