Garden Club Reflections- Patience

As part of His end-times prophecy speech, Jesus makes this unique statement: “In your patience you possess your souls.” (Luke 21:19) The curiosity of this claim is that it seems to counter the warning only a few verses before. The omen states that believers will be hated of all nations and put to death, during a season of judgment. Then states that not a hair will perish and then this hint about patience being a survival strategy.

               Odd. Or at least difficult to grasp. But patience, the skill to wait and endure, IS key. And we can practice this habit now, while things are calm, and train ourselves for what lies around the next bend in the road. Will tribulation saints actually be able to survive those years of terror simply through the practice of patience? Certainly worth pondering.
