Garden Club Reflections- Hating Evil

Sometimes, loving God means hating other things, things that God despises. Proverbs 8:13 confirms, “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” This list in Proverbs screams an obvious observation. Those character traits disdained by God are revered by our current, self-absorbed culture. Sighing and sadness.

               If I say I respect God, I must also respect His opinions on various topics as stated in His Word. Revering God means actually hating things He dislikes. Evil, pride, smugness, devious schemes, and twisty, tricking, enticing words. Let’s be cautious to guide our emotional reactions to align with the guidelines of God’s laws.
