Ever believe that you left the night behind and still feel drowsy? Like you’ve entered daylight with your body, but your brain is still in bed? Yeah. Me too. Apparently, this issue is as old as humanity.
The Apostle Paul reminds, “The night is far gone; the day is at hand. So then let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.” (Romans 13:12) Although we may struggle with a sleepy physical brain, I hope that our spirits and souls are awake to all the opportunities. Day is here. Things need to be accomplished.
Just like I can cast off pajamas, leave sleep behind, and prepare for my day, I can also wake my soul, cast off those dark thoughts and works, and prepare for my most important tasks cloaked in God’s armor of light.
Am I awake? Is my soul ready for its season of opportunity and adventure?
