I love light! Light is one of my favorite Biblical and life themes and will be the focus of my 2021 blog posts. But did you know that light had a beginning?
Scripture shares the creation account of light in Genesis 1:3, “And God said, ‘Let there be light.’” Light was one of God’s earliest creations on this planet and is an aspect of His own nature. Light existed before the sun was created, indicating that the light source was divine. Only after speaking light into existence did God create the sun, moon, and stars. Although God Himself is light, He permitted the sun to be the ruler of light for the daytime.
Light is multi-faceted and touches every aspect of our lives. Light gives the hope and the fresh start of a new day. It also offers warmth and comfort and the fellowship of others who crave the light.
Whether light comes from God, His Word, our sun, fire, lamps, lightning, electricity, or even the things we learn, all light benefits the human soul. I love light! I’m thankful for its creation. Light is life!
Wow! So ambitious and disciplined to choose a theme for a year, but this is a good one. Thanks for sharing these truths, Chrisann.
