And what is one side effect of this newly created heaven and earth? What emotion, what expression will be prevalent? Joy!
“For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.” (Isaiah 65:17,18) And the object and origin of the rejoicing will begin in God’s beloved city: Jerusalem.
Jerusalem shall be so happy, that her joy will ripple around the globe, spreading like an epidemic of happiness and blessing. Her rejoicing will ours, and laughter will become the hallmark of the kingdom.
