Can clarifying our goals and dreams better help us to achieve them? Can knowing my destination better help me to plan my trip? Yes!
Paul finished his advice with looking forward, “-press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 3:14) As a believer in Jesus, I can set Him as my prize. Jesus can become the goal for which I am striving. Although in one sense, I have completely won Jesus by taking Him as Savior, but I can do more. I can have the motivation of being more like Him. I can have the goal of learning how to better partner with Him, which brings Him glory. All of these truths help me to clarify my vision and hone my strategies.
Out with the old me. In with the new me, the one that presses forward toward my prize: Jesus!
