Garden Club Reflections- Judge Rightly

Jesus, in this passage, is answering His critics. These religious naysayers were disputing His authority to minister, contrary to the standard customs. Accused of being empowered by the evil one, Jesus defended: “Judge not according to appearance, but judge righteous judgment.” (John 7:24) Jesus is not necessarily referring to being judgmental but rather inaccurately discerning the real truth.
Those religious leaders charged Him with receiving authority and power from the ruler of darkness. But those men “judged” or discerned incorrectly. May we learn to discern truth, especially the Truth, found in the Person of Jesus. Let’s judge righteously
