Have you ever read that Psalms 46,47,48 are a prophecy trilogy? Psalm 46 is all about the chaos of a season of turmoil and judgment until God steps in at verse 10 to decree peace. The psalm begins, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear…” (Ps 46:1,2a)
During this season, many are fearing the birthing pangs of the end times and tribulation period. Fears concerning wars and rumors of wars, pestilences, intrigues, conspiracies dominate social media, and even our coffee conversations. But “fear not!” In seasons of judgment, the smartest strategy is to be in right standing with the Judge. Just like the ark for Noah or Jesus for the believer, God Himself is the Refuge, as well as the Strength needed to not fear. Have hope, friend, IN the power and solidness of our Refuge, God.
