The word “fresh” is so alluring, so alive! It hints at something new and full of hope for the future. The attraction is strong for anyone weary and worn out by life’s hardships.
“-I shall be anointed with fresh oil.” (Psalm 92:10) This psalmist sees God Himself as the Provider of a fresh start through the process of anointing. In his case, it was in the midst of war that he craved this special touch of God. For us, it may be the daily grind of carrying heavy loads. But God is good, offering a fresh start with an anointing of fresh oil.
As we seek a fresh start with fresh hope and a fresh vision, may we begin with God, the Provider of the fresh oil and fresh anointing.
