Just as “forgetting” will be required to make a fresh start in the new kingdom, celebrating the hope of amazing changes will also be a must!
God says, “Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth…I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:19) The judgment years will be arduous, at best. But the kingdom will offer new changes, new hope, and a new reason to celebrate. Pathways will pop up to successfully navigate the wilderness. Streams will spring to life in the deserts, renewing everything around them.
So, while we may dread and despair the judgment, we can also find courage to embrace the hope of the kingdom. “A new thing” beckons us from just around the next bend in the road. Can you see it?
