In a world of darkness and discouragement, who can be trusted to light the way? In a society where change and chaos are in control, where can stability and security be found?
One author of Scripture, James, gives us this hope: “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with Whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17) “The Father of lights” is such a unique and yet appropriate title for God, and He is just what this dark world needs. He gives good and perfect gifts. He is illuminating, stable, and constant.
When I forget the good things of God in a degenerate age, may I remind myself of this offer from James 1:17 and the glory of our Father of lights.
